Whats up all, I am now working on lights and the following pictures illustrate how to build a Cob light. I have built about 50 of these so figured I would document the steps for those wanting to to similar.

Thanks!

Drill holes for optics before you start and clean surface with alcohol.

I researched for some time and all sources point to this being the best Thermal compound on the market used primary for over clocking GPU processors for coin miners.

Apply a light amount of thermal compound, less is more here!

Level the compound, I find it is best to go in circles.

Apply to heat-sink in between the holding bracket screws, push it down and swivel it so that the compound is leveled out.

Install bracket, This can be tricky as you will have to slide the cob around until the bracket sits flush on the heat sink, Take your time as it needs to be flush to provide the appropriate contact pressure Be careful not to have the screwdriver slip off the screw and poke the inner part of the cob. it will damage it!

Test it to make sure all is working, if it dosent work, you probably used too much coumpound and it got on the contacts, take apart and clean all contacts and extra compound.

Install optic to keep everything clean until you are ready to wire.

 Hey reefers, along with building the lights, I am starting to construct the Rock work. The idea here is to use shelf rock and pedestal style supports to support the shelf which I think will give maximum real-estate for the Acropora. In addition I am going to try structure it to create depth perception. Along with that I am building custom mounts for the Acropora frags to blend with with rock work. I really don't want to use tiles and PVC here!
